Saint Luke is a church shaped by historic Lutheran worship, faithful biblical preaching, Christian education, and a strong commitment to handing the faith from one generation to the next. We believe the Church is sustained not by changing trends or personal opinion, but by the enduring Word of God revealed in Holy Scripture. Through the Divine Service, Bible study, Sunday School, youth ministry, and fellowship, we seek to remain rooted in Christ and His gifts.

Saint Luke has been part of the Wauseon community since 1910, when Lutheran families in Clinton Township organized a congregation centered on worship, catechesis, and Christian education. Across more than a century, generations of members have gathered here to hear the Gospel, receive the Sacraments, teach their children, care for one another, and serve their neighbors. That history remains important to us, but our confidence is ultimately not in what previous generations accomplished. It rests in Jesus Christ, who continues to preserve His Church through His Word and promises.
Today, Saint Luke serves individuals and families from Wauseon, Archbold, Delta, Napoleon, Swanton, and communities throughout Northwest Ohio. We invite you to join us as we worship, study God’s Word, care for our neighbors, and confess Christ in Word and Sacrament.

What We Believe
Christ is Lord
At Saint Luke Lutheran Church, we treasure the Lutheran Confessions because they give clear voice to the faith taught in Holy Scripture. They do not stand beside or above the Bible as another source of revelation. Rather, they faithfully summarize and confess the biblical teaching of the Triune God, the person and work of Jesus Christ, justification by grace through faith, Holy Baptism, the Lord’s Supper, the ministry, and the life of the Church.
This confession is rooted in the historic Christian faith rather than in a new religious movement. In the Apostles’, Nicene, and Athanasian Creeds, and in the writings gathered in the Book of Concord, Lutherans confess the same Christ proclaimed by the apostles and received by the Church across the centuries. At Saint Luke, that heritage shapes our preaching, teaching, catechesis, and understanding of the Christian life.
The same continuity is evident in our worship. The historic Lutheran liturgy is saturated with Scripture and directs attention away from personal performance and toward the gifts Christ gives His people. Through readings from God’s Word, the ancient Creeds, prayer, hymnody, preaching, Holy Baptism, and the Lord’s Supper, the congregation is continually brought back to the saving work of Jesus Christ.
This liturgical life also connects Saint Luke with generations of Christians who have gathered around Word and Sacrament before us. Since the congregation’s founding in 1910, worship, Christian education, and faithful Lutheran teaching have remained central to life at Saint Luke. We are grateful for that inheritance and seek to pass it on with care to our children, our neighbors in Wauseon, and families throughout Northwest Ohio.
The goal is not simply to preserve something because it is old. We hold to this confession and worship because they continue to direct us to what is enduring: Christ crucified and risen for sinners, the forgiveness of sins, and the sure promises of God. In every generation, Saint Luke seeks to remain faithful to that task—confessing Christ in Word and Sacrament.
